His House | Her Home - What’s it all about?
It all begins with an idea.
And our idea focuses on the power of your house. Yes, it’s a house. You know, the roof, the walls, and the foundation. But is it a home? How does it become a home? How do you also care for it as a house?
His House | Her Home was an idea TJ and I had because we know what it’s like to have a house that isn’t exactly “ideal.” Our first house needed some serious upgrading. I’m talking… pink Pepto-Bismol walls, green shaggy carpets, purple paint in the bathroom, and not enough space to store just a couple of beach towels and board games. I hope that paints you a pretty picture of the shape of this house. And if it doesn’t, I can sum it up in one word: HIDEOUS (but hey, the bones were good!) This was a house that desperately needed some updating and we knew it wasn’t going to happen overnight. So how do you enjoy it during it’s worst moments? It truly comes down to the choice of making it a home.
So despite what our house “lacks,” we’ve chosen to make this house a safe haven. Trust and believe this takes work. It takes love. It takes care. And definitely a lot of out of the box thinking.
We know first-hand that having a house is expensive (hello water heater replacement, HVAC servicing, and replacing the roof), but sometimes making it a home is found in the simple, little things.
Consider this a 2-for-1 kind of deal:
His House will be TJ’s perspective — all of the tips for maintaining and enhancing your house
Her Home will be Erin’s perspective — little nuggets and ideas on how to create a space you truly love and enjoy
We’ll provide this blog to our community of clients once every month and our main goal is to share our ideas, potentially spark inspiration, and hopefully bring anyone who reads it some value! We hope to educate where we can and in return, we hope to gain some amazing tips and tricks from you! Our passion is our home, and yours.
We hope we help you find value in the house you live in, either the way that it is, or with what it could be. We want to share what we have learned about the importance of maintaining it. At the end of the day, we pray you find the value in your house to take the time to make it a home. From his house, and her home, to yours.
Let the fun begin!
